Tie-Breaker

GBG vs. FNC

The final day of group stages started with the top two teams of Group B, Russian powerhouse Gambit Gaming against Season 1 Champions Fnatic. Fnatic would start the game off demolishing Gambit Gaming with an early lane gank from Cyanide for first blood. xPeke would not be outdone by his teammate as he would immediately manage to get a kill of his own on Alex Ich diving under tower. The game was completely in Fnatic's favor and pace as Peke would become a monster starting the game 3-0, while the team held a 5-0 lead along with the first dragon. Gambit would try to retaliate as the game went on with two kills bringing kill count to 3-8 in favor of Fnatic. Unfortunately for the Russian's the Season 1 Champs were just too far ahead as they would win the game with a 20-4 kill difference along with a 10k gold lead. This win would also be Fnatic's 6th consecutive win against Gambit Gaming in a row.?

VUL vs. SSO

The second match of the day was between the two tied third place teams, Korea's Samsung Galaxy Ozone squaring up against Vulcun Techbargains. Vulcun would come in hot once again into the match as Mancloud would pick up an easy first blood. Vulcun would continue to play at a high pace and push forward for the first tower of the game as well. Everything looked to be going in Vulcun's favor as they would even start to show promise in team fights, crushing members of Ozone with perfectly synchronized ultimates.

While Vulcun looked great to begin with, they would steadily fall into disarray as Ozone would start to push back. Vulcun would try to initiate a fight at mid, however, nothing shifted in their favor as Ozone would be the team to come out ahead with a 3 for 1.  Samsung Ozone would be a team that would snowball with their double ADC comp as they would win fight after fight. The momentum that was originally on Vulcun's great start had completely vanished as Ozone would just shut down every member of Vulcun.

FNC vs. MSK

Coming into the third game of the day was between the first and last place teams, Fnatic and Mineski. This game was one solely for the sake of fun as both teams would bring out some underused and unpopular champions. Fnatic brought out Sivir and a role swap of YellOwStaR and sOAZ, while Mineski chose a 4 support plus Varus team composition. Mineski opted for a tower pushing team with mid Soraka, bot Zilean, jungle nunu, and Varus/Sona at the top. sOAZ would start the game forcing Soraka to put an early point in heal as he would grab her at the mid lane before creeps spawned. Mineski however played well early, pushing down the top tower extremely quickly. Fnatic would respond with first blood and then continue for another kill. The game was mostly in the favor of Fnatic the entire time as the gold lead and kill lead were constantly in their favor. Fnatic and Mineski would make this game as fun as possible for the fans and casters.  With a standing ovation, Fnatic would win this game going 32-11 and a 15k gold lead. Unfortunately for Fnatic, the fans would be chanting Mineski at the end of the game.?

GBG vs. VUL

The forth match was between Gambit Gaming and Vulcun for the chance to stay alive in this competitive Group B matchup. Vulcun needed a win to stay alive and Gambit needed a win to continue to hold to second.  Gambit Gmaing would start the game with a bit of greed in their systems as they would opt for an extremely early dragon. They were successful with it and managed to grab the bot turret as well in exchange for the lives of Diamond and Alex. Vulcun would once again play well in the early game as SychoSid forced Gambit to chase him as Bloodwater, Zuna, and Mancloud crushed Alex at midlane. Vulcun would grab the second dragon to pull ahead even further. ?

This is when the game shifted once again out of Vulcun's favor. After crushing Gambit in a team fight the half healthed members of Vulcun opted to go for Baron. Gambit would force Vulcun to pay by demolishing Vul and picking up Baron for themselves. Gambit Gaming even though they were down at that point held the lead easily afterwards as they would be victorious in every teamfight afterwards. Gambit would win the game with a 22-11 kill differencial and 9k gold lead, eliminating Vulcun officially.?

SSO vs. MSK

The final match to determine whether a tie would happen or not was between Samsung Galaxy Ozone going up against Mineski. Mineski would once again opt for a strange team comp as they would pick up jungle Karma, Jarvan/Leona kill lane, and laning Mundo. Mineski actually started off pretty good as Tgee would utilize the Leona pickup like a roaming Alistar. This playstyle would nab Mineski first blood after a successful gank crushed Dade. Mineski would continue to utilize this playstyle and continue to pick up a few more kills. ?

Unfortunately for Mineski, this would often leave a free farming Vayne for Ozone. Ozone would utilize Imp's Vayne perfectly to counter Mineski's odd playstyle as he would pick up kills after kills. Ozone would crush the fan favorite Mineski with a 32-8 kill differential officially tieing them with Gambit Gaming for second place.?

TIE-BREAKER: SSO vs. GBG

The final match of Group B was between the tied second place teams, Samsung Galaxy Ozone and Gambit Gaming. Ozone would play well to begin picking up first blood against Alex with Dade and Looper chain CCing him. Ozone would then start dominating the map as they would pick off any members of GBG they can along with any global gold as well. ?

Once Ozone started to get a little greedy trying to get the bot inner turret, GBG turned the entire game around in one fell swoop. All it took was one good Stranglethorn and GBG picked up 4 kills, Dragon, and two towers all within two minutes. Alex Ich would be the main factor of this game as he would take part in 100% of the participation for most of the game. At 25 minutes Alex was 9/1/3. SSO tried to get back in the game when GBG was trying for the Baron attempt and managed to steal it. Ozone would not only steal the Baron but would also manage to trade 4 kills for 1. Genja however was not ready to go home and would be the savior at the end bringing back the momentum for GBG with a pentakill. Gambit would eventually close out against Ozone with another Ace and win the game, sending themselves as the second team out of Group B.?
