The last day of the EU LCS came and everything was set to be decided on it, no matter how many tie breaker matches were to be played. With Lemondogs secured a playoff spot and MYM going to relegation, the other six teams faced into fierce battles in order to secure those precious playoff positions.
NiP vs ATN
The second day of the EU LCS super week started with Ninjas in Pyjamas facing Alternate. From the pick screen the game showed promise - Mimer got Yorick for NiP while Alternate answered with Karma taken by Kerp and Fiddlesticks as support on Jree.
The game was off to a slow start until Araneae decided to gank Bjergsen's Zed at mid but the Danish player managed to take a first blood in a two versus one fight. After that the game exploded - kills, towers and dragons were traded back and forward until the 25th minute when a dragon fight emerged and Bjergsen made a quadra kill while his team lost only one player. From there on it was all about Bjergsen crushing Alternate on every corner and winning the game, bringing Alternate to 0-4 in the super week.
LD vs MYM
The second game of the day faced the top standing team on the ladder - Lemondogs versus the bottom team - Meet Your Makers. Makate managed to get Nunu in the jungle, while Tabzz picked an Fizz. From the start Lemondogs were in control of the game, slowing building their advantage and at about 25th minute mark, they had about 5k gold lead. Until the end of the game Lemondogs were just having fun, trying tricky moves, fountain diving and enjoying their game.
EG vs ATN
The third game faced Evil Geniuses against Alternate, each team aiming for that precious win and playoff spots. After being top of the standings for 7 weeks, Alternate had one last opportunity to win and avoid relegation.
After a slow start of the game a dragon fight emerged at about 12th minute mark resulting in 3 kills for Alternate and a dragon, while EG got 4 kills in return. From there on however EG took control of the game. They were winning every engagement time after time, which resulted in 23rd minute baron. EG needed ten more minutes to win the game, which happened after series of successful engagement, objective control and tower pushing. The final drop was quadra kill for Yellowpete's Caitlyn and a fast nexus finish after that.
NiP vs SK
The game followed the trend of the day - cautious early game, neither team willing to take risks. That play style resulted in even gold at the 20 minute mark and no clear lead for any team.
As expected Bjergsen on Diana was the main threat. The Dane was dictating the game making him primary target for SK. The slow exchange of kills and objectives continued and by the 35th minute the result was 10 to 8 in favor of NiP but there was no gold difference. Even though the game looked close, NiP felt as a stronger team, winning the team fights by a small margin, mainly because SK were going all out on Bjergsen and were lacking damage to finish the rest of the team.
With the game progressing Bjergsen's impact became lower, and SK managed to pull a 3k gold lead. A fight emerged near the baron at the 45th minute, which seemed as turning point of the game - SK won the battle, took baron and dictated the game for the next 10 minutes, taking towers and inhibitor. NiP however had different plans. After a great team fight won by the team and because of the long death timers, NiP were able to push and secure the victory.
