With their old lineup back, Araneae and the gang tie up with Lemondogs for first place in Week 8 Day 1 of the EU LCS.
FNC vs NiP
Right from the picks and bans, you could tell that it was going to be an exciting fight. Bjergsen on Zed and xPeke on Ahri mean that assassinations are abound in this match. With both near the top of the standings, one win could mean everything to both these teams.
At the beginning of the game, Bjergsen was simply dominating, getting kill after kill, seemingly snowballing out of control. However, sOAZ on Kennen and Puszu on Vayne outfarmed and outscaled their opponents, negated the lead the NiP mid laner had. As the game progressed, FNC took control of the game, ending up with a win.
ATN vs MYM
With ALTERNATE having a stellar game with Creaton back on the team, they were now up against Meet Your Makers, who sadly continued on slumping hard. A win for the Polish team is desperately needed, as not just for the standings, but for their confidence as well.
Unfortunately, that was not meant to be. While MYM had a good pick comp, they were outplayed in every single way. Although it was not the super fast-paced game that ATN was used on doing, but they still got the job done. MYM's mobility was shut down by heavy map pressure, and ended up with another saddening loss.
LD vs SK
Capping off the day was a battle between the leading Lemondogs versus the trailing SK Gaming. Ocelote and his team pulled out a team comp akin to their American neighbors, Cloud 9, in particular the Ashe/Zyra botlane.
The level one fight almost dictated the rest of the game, as SK was able to pick off LD, ocelote on Fizz getting First Blood. Unfortunately, it was not utilized as well as it should be, and LD were still able to get even. Hyrqbot's playmaking though, with Ashe and Zyra's strong engagements, got SK amazing teamfights, and while it took some time, they eventually got the win.
