ATN vs GMB
For the first game, it was a match between Gambit Gaming and ALTERNATE attax, both of which pulled out junglers who weren't commonly used, if at all. Though ATN had a good start, it was GMB's Darien on his Renekton who carried the team on his back and got themselves another win, crucial in such a close race to the finish line.
Diamond on his Karma has finally been proven as a viable pick, a total reversal from their loss against Fnatic. The Enlightened One acted as a secondary support mage with tons of utility. The rotations from GMB allowed Alex Ich on Kassadin to slowly farm up safely after being harassed by ForellenLord's Lissandra, which resulted with him melting everybody. Adding Voidle's beautiful Crescendos, and the Russian squad took the rookies in dominating fashion.
FNC vs LD
From the bottom of the ranks, Lemondogs seemed to have been on a roll lately, taking down everyone who stands in their way. Currently tied to them were the Spring Champions, Fnatic, and this match determined who gets to be the king of the hill for now, with LD taking the crown.
Two new picks were seen in this game: Gragas for s0aZ and Talon for nukeduck. Fortunately for Lemondogs, the Blade's Shadow has shown to be a powerful counter to xPeke's Kassadin, able to silence and burst the Voidwalker down before doing the same to him. Though a slow farm fest at first, it quickly ramped up to exciting assassinations and teamfights, with the rookies slowly and surely having a wider and wider lead.
SK vs EG
Some of the old guard seemed to continue struggling this split, though the guys from Evil Geniuses seemed to adapt better with getting a sixth man and a analyst, while SK Gaming simply trundled on with their lineup. The additions for EG seem to keep on working, as they outplayed ocelote and his army.
Recenly, leaving Twisted Fate open had been the strategy of some teams, and it perfectly worked for EG as ocelote picked it and was countered by Ahri. The more aggressive playstyle by Shacker made sure the carries got the gold they needed, and Brickd Wickd acted as a great wall and initiator for the team. EG's phenomenal teamfighting has started to show once more, resulting in a much needed win.
MYM vs NiP
Ending this week of the LCS was a fight between Meet Your Makers and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Once at the top, the Polish squad was now at the bottom of the standings, and were desperate to find a way to get back in the race. Thus, it was probably a good thing for them that NiP changed rosters once more, and they finally got a good result, albeit not an easy one.
Czaru on Ahri with Teleport was a monster in the early game, and from there, the match just snowballed out of control. With Mokatte's Jarvan IV creating the perfect setups to lead MYM to favorable teamfights, it looked as if they would just stomp towards the enemy base. Yet they seemed to have difficulty closing out games, which resulted in something more drawn-out than it is supposed to be. They persisted in the end, and hopefully got a confidence and morale boost.
