From a blog post on his website, David Philip Graham, otherwise known as "ultradavid," has written a lengthy article discussing the P-1 athlete visas given to League of Legends players in the LCS, and what this means as a step forward in competitive video gaming. As both a lawyer and an FGC commentator, his extensive knowledge in both fields gave him a unique advantage in understanding the desire of many to make video gaming a sport, and how various laws used in traditional sports affect it.
He discusses topics such as athlete training, sex equality, funding, media coverage, and agents among others, citing numerous American laws applied to sports organizations today. While it takes quite a while to finish reading, his lack of legalese and a casual approach via theorizing possible scenario makes it an interesting one as well, as these may soon matter if eSports becomes in league with traditional sports
