It's the Hype Train vs the Dongsquad for the third game in this 4th of July Extravaganza. In the middle of the pack, Dignitas would've loved to snag a win against the top team with their new setup of KiWiKiD playing Twisted Fate in mid and scarra on the side lane with Zed. For Cloud 9, they once again used their tried and true method of objective-based, teamfight-centric play, for why fix what isn't broke?
Dignitas had a well thought out plan, with Twisted Fate constantly ganking the duo lane of Sneaky and LemonNation, cancelling the early game power of Draven and Lulu. This allowed the high-burst combo of Graves and Sona to add to the already insane damage potential of Dignitas' assassin comp. But Cloud 9, in typical fashion, knew where their strengths lie, and forced big teamfights where their team comp excels. The key player here was Meteos, who continues to show why Zac should always be banned against him, for his Elastic Slingshots dictated the tone of the important clashes, resulting in another dominating win for the LCS rookies.

CLG vs CST

After a strong performance at MLG Anaheim, Counter Logic Gaming looked to increase their momentum against Team Coast, who had a rather disappointing 1-2 run last week. As per usual, CLG formed a late game team comp with strong splitpushing capabilities from either Nien's Jayce or, more commonly, Doublelift's Tristana. For Team Coast, they continued to prefer all-in, dive-heavy comps with Shiphtur's Zed and ZionSpartan's Shen leading the charge.
Elementz' boys came out strong, utilizing their early game power to win their lanes. Around the mid game, Nien was constantly left alone to farm, allowing CLG to stay within Coast's reach. ZionSpartan's Shen pick, however, was the perfect counter against the splitpush strat, controlling Doublelift's pushing power. Coast also had superior objective control by getting Dragons constantly. Soon, the dive comp simply became too strong to handle, almost instantly taking out most of CLG in one go.
