C9 vs VUL

Coming off their first defeat for this season, Cloud 9 attempts to pick up steam once more as they face confident Vulcun, who just defeated Curse once again. Even with their loss, Hai L9's squad went with their tried and tested objective-oriented team, with Kennen, Rumble, and Nasus able to deal massive amount of AoE damage. Mancloud's team, on the other hand, went for a more poke/disengage comp with a reliance on going single target assassinations with Kog'Maw, Twisted Fate, and Elise.

With a better level 1, C9 took control of the map game by taking out the first two top towers of Vulcun in just five minutes with immense 3v1 pressure. The advantage soon worked against them though, with Vulcun holding on and Xmithie making great plays with his Lee Sin. C9 kept pressure the map, pushing Vulcun against a wall. Close to winning, a reset button was pushed with a miraculous Baron steal by Bloodwater's Janna. It wasn't enough, however, and C9's strong initiation comp and AoE tore part any poke and disengage Vulcun had, taking the win.

TSM vs CLG

(click match to show draft)

With one win under their belts this week, Team SoloMid and Counter Logic Gaming both planned to keep the ball rolling in the second day of the LCS. TSM chose a very comfortable lineup, going for tons of AoE damage with Karthus and Jayce. Though Nien had a great performance with a carry-type top laner, he went for a more "HotshotGG" choice in Malphite, forming the classic CLG two-threat team comp.

In a surprising turn of events CLG started off with a good lead early in the game, Bigfatlp repetitively ganking Dyrus' Jayce to prevented him from snowballing. Trade after trade, CLG seems to get a little more ahead, while TSM consistently made mistakes and miscalculations. The spotlight for this game goes to Link, whose positioning was crucial in winning their teamfights. With the help of bigfatlp and Nien's dives, CLG overpowered their opponent with coordinated crowd control and focus fire, and in the end rewarded them with the Nexus.
