They needed three attempts, but finally iMpunity.Earth has made it to the G-League of the SEA HoN Tour. After falling in the original qualifier and in Cycle 1, they have finally managed to overcome their clinching anxieties and secured themselves a position among the top teams of the region. It was long overdue for one of the staple teams in the South East Asian region, but finally iMpunity.Earth has managed to pull it together and overcome the threshold between D1 and G-League. Previously to this glorious run in the D1 playoffs, they already blew four different matches, when a spot in G-League was on the line. First it happened against Anti Moon Queen and 2nd Runner Up in the SEA HoN Tour Qualifier, then they fell to DC Fabulous and KaiD in the D1 playoffs of the first cycle. Now they are through and they looked as strong as ever securing the spot. Not a single map lost was suffered throughout the entire D1 cycle and in the ensuing playoffs. They beat out DV Gaming, Turtle Gaming, VietDreamerz and Fanatic Five to clinch their second D1 SEA championship in a row, only to then demolish jadT and Few Nhor from Thailand in the D1 playoffs. The resume of the team gets even more impressive, since those two fellow playoff teams they beat, are also making the jump up to the G-League alongside iMpunity.Earth. Both may have lost against ImpE, but once it was time to clutch the matches, it went all right for the two Thai teams. The fourth team that moves up to G-League might not have the biggest name in the big Thai scene, but they sure have made an early impression with every match they played so far in SEA HoN Tour. ROCCAT Air Quality started out in D2, but managed to beat out every single team they ever faced so far. In D2 they didn't have to concede a single match, in D1 they just skated through the bracket and in the D1 playoffs it was the same story. They are the only team that has not lost a single contest throughout the entire HoN Tour season. Now, after adding a D2 title and a D1 Championship to their trophy case, they are ready to shine in G-League. And shining they need to, considering the high bar that was set for rookie teams in the G-League by the first class. All four teams that got promoted last time have managed to retain this status, while three of them even bolstered impressive point scores. Made in Thailand.Sorry Sorry has made it to the playoffs with 39 points, both the Indonesian teams of Insidious eSports and DC Fabulous have outdone themselves with 24 and 21 points respectively - resulting in top ten finishes for both of them. Only KaiD struggled initially, but a burst in the last couple of days helped them out and barely made them hang on to the privilege of being called a G-League squad. That is the bar that was set and all four teams need to summon all their power to not fall right down again. With that being said, all teams that are awaiting those four have already posted impressive seasons. Only KaiD has no 20+ point cycle on it's resume, the entire rest of the G-League has shattered that mark either in Cycle 1 or Cycle 2. They got their work cut out for them and it's going to be an interesting new cycle - once the old one finds a worthy champion this weekend.
