It was expected, but now it is official - the most dominant HoN team of the last couple of month qualified for DreamHack Summer 2013. Stay Green once again played a flawless Qualifier tournament, not dropping a single map yet again.
The DreamHoN Summer 2013 World Championships are only one month away and the list of qualified teams is getting longer and longer. The most recent team to punch the ticket to the major event in Jönköping, Sweden is the current reigning HoN Tour and GSL Champion - Stay Green. The team around drafter Swindlemelonzz crushed yet another major tournament without dropping a single map, extending the winning streak to a total of 48 maps won in concession.
The actual Winner Bracket Final today ended anti-climactic with several pauses due to lag issues on the side of Internet Gangsters. Before those issues occurred, the newcomer team around iNsania looked fairly good in the clash against the giant of HoN, but in the end the game ended just as every single sG match ended in the last months.
While Internet Gangsters are still in the mix and will play for the DreamHack Summer ticket tomorrow against either compLexity Gaming or Lions eSports, Stay Green can already start to plan their trip to the Scandinavic nation. All five players have DreamHack experience already, but were never able to clinch the victory at the most prestigious international HoN competition that the game has to offer.
At the Elmia Convention Center they will face off against the best of the best from all HoN region, including teams from Singapore, Thailand, Russia and China. sG already has experience against MiTH.s2y from Thailand and iMpunity from Singapore from the Garena Star League 2013 event, but will see changed teams nonetheless. MiTH.s2y has emerged as the Thai standout after the GSL event, iMpunity underwent roster changes and is now set to play with the Malaysian stars Shuiyu and kiDDO`. The Russian team iTS is new to the international floor, the Chinese team will most likely also debut their team on the DreamHack Summer stage, but still all teams are more than eager to push Stay Green from the throne.
Three spots are still open with either compLexity Gaming, Lions eSports or Internet Gangsters grabbing the sixth spot tomorrow, followed by the Swedish Pride tournament and the Chinese DreamHack Qualifier.
