The final eight teams have been decided for the North American Summer Regional at DreamHack: Austin in early May.

The last qualifier rounds for the first North American Summer Regional were wrapped up Sunday and the final lineup for the event has been decided. The eight teams will battle it out at DreamHack in Austin, Texas on May 6-7 for a prize pool of $100,000 and a shot at going to the Summer Global Championship in Sweden in June. Below, we take a quick look at the eight teams:

  • Team Naventic: Coming off a big win in the first qualifier for this event, Naventic is looking to go all the way this time. They placed second in the North American Spring Regional, and represented the US alongside Cloud9 in Korea at the Spring Global Championship.

  • Tempo Storm: Also qualifying in the first qualifier, Tempo Storm is seeing a lot of success with their newly adjusted summer roster. Hopes are high for Tempo Storm and the NA Summer Regional will be a perfect place to make a name for themselves.

  • Team Higher Consciousness: As a new team, THC has made a major statement with about their skill, especially in qualifying for the NA Summer Regional. They need a big win at the regional to be considered a serious contender.

  • Gale Force eSports: GFE is comprised of many well-known HotS pros, including two Heroes of the Dorm Champions MichaelUdall and Akaface. They played very strong games in the qualifiers, but their new roster will be put to the test at the regional.

  • Panda Global: As a long-time Heroes eSports team, Panda Global has attended many Blizzard events in the past. They competed among the best North American teams at the Spring Regional and are really pushing to improve on their previous results.

  • COGnitive Gaming: COG has been around the NA scene for a fair amount of time, and they've really proven to be a strong contender. They barely missed out on qualifying for Korea during the Spring Regional and should put on quite a performance in Austin.

  • Gust or Bust: GoB is a team with some very good players that are looking to shine at DreamHack. Under a different team name, they competed at the Spring Regional and they've had a lot of time to practice since then.

  • Cloud9: Strangely enough, the final qualifying seed for DreamHack: Austin is the BlizzCon 2015 winning side, Cloud9, who went to Korea to compete in the Spring Global Championship. They had some rough luck in the qualifying games, but there's no doubt that they will be bringing their absolute best to DreamHack.

Prize money is on the line, but more importantly, teams are fighting for a chance to compete at the Summer Global Championship at DreamHack Summer. Held in Jönköping, Sweden on June 18-20 with the best HotS teams from around the world in attendance, the summer event has a prize pool of $500,000.
