One less spot available at the Spring Championships as GIA secures itself a place among the world's elite in dominant fashion.

Having established themselves as the dominant team in Taiwan, GIA went into these finals riding the momentum of a 6-match winning streak. Their opponent, Team AW, was the only team to win against GIA in the last 13 games. But whatever sliver of hope Team AW had of challenging GIA for the trip to Korea vanished as they lost 3-0.

Game 1 on Cursed Hollow had both teams drafting strong melee compositions. Having faced each other numerous times before, GIA denied Team AW the Abathur pick in games 1 and 2, which is one of BaitGod's top heroes. In addition to familiarity, GIA built their victories around the strong play of Rival and Lulumi, who each took Uther and Sonya all three games respectively. But such consistentcy may translate into predictablity and could work against them in the competition ahead.

After GIA showed their best in the Taiwan region, they will now have to play as well and probably even better in the upcoming Spring Championship in Korea. While their own region isn't the least developed scene, they simply do not have the same experience with competitive hardship as teams like Cloud9 and MVP Black. Their next challenge will be in the first group stage in Korea, where they will face Europe's 2nd seed, mYisnanity.
