Coming into the last day of Group A matches, all four teams still had an opportunity to make it into the bracket stage of the competition. Zero Gaming looked to have done more than enough to ensure their spot while Star Club was needing specific results in order for them to proceed.

The first set of the day would be between Cloud9 and Star Club. In order for Star Club to have a chance of going through, they would need to beat Cloud9 2-0 and rely on Zero Gaming to beat Edward Gaming 2-0. This would not be the case as the series against C9 would go all three games, effectively ruling Star Club out of playoff contention, but they could at least still play spoiler.

The whole series was a very back and forward affair, but in the third game held on Blackheart's Bay, Star Club looked to have a much more controlled focus on the map objectives, repeatedly bombing C9 into submission and finishing off the series with the help of the boss. With this loss, C9 would need Zero Gaming to win in order to scrape through the group stage.

With a lot still up for grabs in this last series, and looking at the results from the previous days of games, it was looking quite likely that Zero Gaming would be able to take the set. However, it seemed that once everything was on the line, Edward Gaming decided it was time to take their play to the next level. They absolutely crushed Zero 2-0 in a very short set, securing the top seed in Group A and subsequently eliminating Cloud9 from the competition.

Groub B concludes tomorrow with eStar so far sitting on top of the standings with Team No Limit, Team YL, and OMG fighting for a spot in the playoffs.
