Gold Series season 2 ends with eStar closing in on the #1 spot

After a dominant tournament-wide performance, eStar is on track to take the #1 spot from Cloud 9.
Full rankingsIt's been obvious from the beginning of competitive HotS that China has an incredibly well developed and mature meta. Coupled with their strong competitive scene, Chinese teams are a force to be reckoned with. With Gold Series season 2 coming to an end, the strength of Chinese HotS has never been more apparent. Cloud 9, the current Blizzcon world champions, finished only at a measly fourth, with eStar, the current kings of China had a dominant performance throughout.
In addition to their tournament win, eStar are now one point away from being tied for #1 best team world after their victory over Cloud 9. In all likelihood, eStar's inability to attend events in the US such as MGA and Blizzcon simply delayed them from the number one spot, as they barely broke a sweat against C9.
eStar is clearly not a team to be taken lightly. With WCA only hours away from starting, we'll be able to get a better picture of exactly where each region stands against each other. As it looks right now though, China is a tough nut to crack and eStar isn't holding back.
