Despite creative strategies from Cloud 9 Maelstrom, yet another grand finals between these two NA juggernauts goes the way of Tempo Storm.

The first match of the Team Liquid Super Brawl grand finals starts at 54:00 in the above Twitch archive. Tempo Storm already had a 1 game advantage from coming from the winners brackets, meaning Cloud 9 Maelstrom had to win 3 games and Tempo Storm only had to win 2 to take the tournament.

The first match, Cloud 9 deployed a clever strategy. By banning Tassadar and Rehgar and simultaneously picking Uther, Malfurion and Tyrande, Cloud 9 Maelstrom gave Tempo Storm only 2 supports to choose from. If you have ever watched Zuna’s stream, you will know Tempo Storms opinion on the new Brightwing. Zuna’s Tier list places her as a  tier 3 hero, and when asked on stream the response is clear: “she’s booty”.

So naturally, Tempo Storm chooses LiLi, a support well regarded as one of the worst in the game. Cloud 9 Maelstrom's strategy seemed to be working perfectly. With 3 stuns on the lineup of C9M, LiLi’s potential healing potential from her Jug of 1,000 cups heroic is very low. Just one attack from Muradin during Avatar cancels the heals completely.

Tempo Storm Dreadnaught managed to get a full duration Jug of 1,000 cups, winning the team fight.

But Tempo Storm continued to do what they do best- win while making it look easy. LiLi never felt weak throughout the match, and Cloud 9 Maelstroms mass healing lineup still couldn't overcome the overwhelming aoe damage Kael'thas, Azmodan, and Valla provides. Tempo Storm takes the game and is up 2-0.

Game two was on Tomb of the Spider Queen, and this time, Tempo Storm opted for a Butcher lineup, using Tyrande and Jaina for scary amounts of burst damage. It was savage. Tempo Storm got kill after kill guided by Zuna and Arthelon's impeccable teamwork; Tyrande found a new stunlock burst damage partner to replace Diablo, and his name is The Butcher.

During one point of the game, when Tempo Storm was level 19 and Cloud 9 Maelstrom was 15, it was hard to take Zoia (who was casting along side of SolidJakeGG) seriously after he said a comeback might be possible, despite Cloud 9 Maelstrom being down all 3 forts and all 3 keeps at the 16 minute mark. Tempo Storm didn't lose a single fort.

Tempo Storm continues it's 25 tournament match win streak with their victory today. It's hard to imagine any NA team giving them a real competition at this point. It will take the likes of Team Liquid or eStar to truly test the team's resolve.
