Team Liquid announced today that they will be disbanding their Heroes of the Storm team and departing from the scene. Here is a link to the announcement. There's not much information given, no reasoning, and no explanation. It was just a simple farewell and thank you. It's a disappointing end to a pretty disappointing run of form, as this announcement came after a disheartening loss to BeGenius ESC in the HGC qualifiers.
So far we only know the fate of one member, Cris, who has joined the HGC-qualified team, Diamond Skin.
Team Liquid has been a part of the scene since the debut of professional Heroes of the Storm in 2014 and, as one of the most recognized names in esports, it is a shame to see them go. We won’t know the impact this could have on the scene, but losing an organization at the level of Team Liquid could be a large blow to Heroes of the Storm esports.
