The ANZ region is going to be hosting its first LAN final with Blizzard announcing the Season 3 qualifiers will consist of 2 online open qualifiers.

Tith the top team from each qualifier being flown to Sydney’s ESL studios to compete for US$20,000 and the chance to compete on the global stage at Blizzcon. The qualifiers will take place in August on the 20th and 27th respectively followed by the LAN final being hosted on the 17th of September. The winner will then be flown to Blizzcon to compete in November for a share in the US$1,000,000 Prizepool and the chance to take on the world finest.

Will the champs make it?

With this being the first live final we can expect to see a lot of hungry teams looking to claim that top spot. The biggest question though is will we see Negative Synergy? The team has been rumoured to have split but with the regional coming we will have to wait and see just who turns up to play. It’s the first time the ANZ regionals have been announced with a month’s notice so teams will be knuckling down now in expectation for a very competitive bracket.
