Some people may have thought we forgot to design some cards as well, but we decided to not just add them to the voting article, but instead do a separated article.

This article is meant to remind you to vote for your favorite cards in the contest and features our take on the March theme.

You can find the Top 24 cards of the March theme here! Remember that the poll will only be open until March 31st!

Let's take a look at what the crew designed:

Having good cheap drops has always been something that Paladins have lacked.

Things are better nowadays with Shielded Minibot and Zombie Chow but there’s still something to be desired, at least in my eyes. Hence, the Silver Hand Weaponsmith.

A 2-drop that synergizes with weapons, SHW can come down on T4 to buff the tokens from Muster for Battle. In the mid-game, it can hide behind Sludge Belchers to provide more punching power to the dudes, thus retaining part of its value even in the later turns.

When i first thought about the March theme I wanted to design something similar to Harvest Golem & Mad Scientist and so i arrived at the route I wanted to take.

I'm a huge fan of the Warrior class, so I designed Loot Bot to be a 3 mana cost minion because I felt like Warrior is lacking in the 3 & 4 mana slot, while they have quite a lot options for different mana costs.

Its cost and stats remind of Harvest Golem, although i decided to go with a more aggressive stance and make it a 3/2 instead of a 2/3. This way it's also more flavorful since it spawns a 3/2 weapon.

The Deathrattle effect is designed after Mad Scientist, although I narrowed down what it can put into play, because an exact copy of Mad Scientists effect would be crazy in my opinion.

Just imagine a turn 3 Gorehowl, it would be insane.

Brawl is the go-to removal for Warrior but I’ve wanted something similar to Rogue’s Blade Flurry.

I’ve imagined an Orc lashing out at his opponents, thus hurting everyone within his reach. The card draw after destroying the Fiery War Axe is like a warrior looking for another weapon or other options at the battlefield.

I made Tauren Warrior because I really like the Dread Corsair 'mechanic' and I thought it could definetly be pushed to be a tad stronger. The card isn't too flashy, but I really like it!

Initially I started this card off as a Chillwind Yeti with the ability, then I realized it was probably a bit too strong (playing this and Truesilver in the same turn seems busted) so I toned it down to a 5 mana 4/5.

I could definitely see this as a Warrior class card for example, though that way we couldn't see it in Rogue or Paladin, which would be dissapointing.

Rogues do not miss direct damage combos with their weapons.

When I was thinking about a card that does make use of a DOT sequence, the idea of the card slowly emerged. The Rogue can use his weapon as he likes, as long as it is not destroyed.

5 Mana is an investment, so in the next turn the opponent has to either clear the weapon with cards such as Acidic Swamp Ooze or trade his high value minions accordingly.

At any rate, this card will need a reaction, so the Rogue can win precious time and inflict damage as well.

The point of vendor trash was

1. I think it’s funny

and

2. I think ramp cards in general should be available to more classes.

Anyone who has ever played WoW has been through the process of selling a bunch of useless weapons, so that is what I wanted to try to make. An otherwise useless weapon that rewards you for “Getting rid of it”.

The Rogue class is probably the class most relying on its weapons, because of the constant appearance of them with the heropower and Weapon buffing cards like poison or oil, which are staples in current rogue lists. So I though of that card as a way to get even more value out of your weapon mechanics.

That's how I arrived at the Crazy Bladesmith design, a 4 mana 2/4 minion which comes at the spot which often had to be filled with cards like Shredder or Teacher.

The stats had to be fairly weak, to make up for the effect. That way it is hard to stay on board
against cards like Shredder, which is one of the most played same mana cost minions at the moment.

The card overall combos really well with cards like Blade Flurry to get a extra attack out of your 1 durability weapon you want to Flurry after. It also makes you use your weapon buffing cards more freely, as often you are debating whether to use your Poison on a 1 charge Dagger or not, because you could get the buff onto more charges.

One of my favorite items in Dota. As for the card itself, I suppose it is decent in heavy control decks as it is pretty much a [card]Faceless Manipulator[/card] plus a [card]Fiery War Axe[/card] and it's also a neutral weapon.
