At the very end of April, the "Winner Decklists Weeekly" comes out with its second episode, this time featuring our own and very beloved GosuCup who returned after the Easter holidays for a budget edition.
With GosuCup going on a budget this week, we expected to see Hunter and Zoo being used a lot and so it was. Winner Lalah went for a very standard Warlock build alongside a rush Hunter (as compared to the Savannah Highmane builds) and threw in just a pinch of Shaman in case something goes wrong.
Over in ZOTAC EU, ThijsNL of Meet Your Makers kept winning. He's now not just the only player to win two ZOTACs in a row (which is on top of his previous achievements of winning both EU and NA in the same weekend) but is also the first quadruple ZOTAC champion, having won #6, #12 and #13 in EU and #12 in NA. This is what he used this Sunday for #13.
Across the Atlantic, ZOTAC NA saw its first repeat champion as zRusheR added the #13 cup to his win in ZOTAC NA #1. He and ThijsNL are thus far the only two players to win more than one ZOTAC cup.
Believe it or not, the weekend Managrind tournaments are not rarity-restricted but bar the Leeroys here and there, there isn't really a big difference to our budget GosuCups. Combined, NA and EU repeated what everyone already knows - Zoo is strong and so is Hunter.
In NA, it was former StarCraft pro GoRush who triumphed, using a slightly more aggressive Doomguard-less Zoo with Leper Gnomes and double Power Overwhelming. In Europe, Dapperatchik from the UK ran a Savannah Highmane Hunter together with a full-on aggro Rexxar, using the latter to counter the former (nobody really likes getting stuck in a Highmane mirror).
2P Open on break againUnfortunately, the Hearth2P Opens took a second break in order to broadcast the EU vs CN Masters grand finals but it should return this weekend. You can read what happened in that tournament here.
