The I-league season 4 winner is Sword, in a 9 to 4 finish over Izoro. The I-league is one of the most important Hearthstone events in China, with the winner receiving almost $80,000 and 37 Hearthstone championship points. The playoff matches were a best of 7, except the final round, which was a best of 17. All 9 classes had to be used, which is extremely rare for a competitive tournament setting. They were played double elimination, with the loser of the game moving into the loser’s bracket.
The tournament had eight famous Chinese Hearthstone players, like Hulu and Robin. The match went on for over an hour and a half, but Sword eventually pulled through, winning the last game with his Rogue deck. In China, the Hearthstone competitive scene is much smaller than in the rest of the world, so winning this tournament, or the Gold series, pretty much defines you as one of the best players in the region.
