Mage and Warrior Legendaries, Rhonin and Varian revealed - and a Hunter card

The two iconic characters, Varian Wrynn and Rhonin, have had their cards revealed, and they are powerful. We also got a new Hunter card.
The votes are in once again. Not that they matter, because as with all the legendaries revealed through the official site, calling it a vote is purely symbolic. The tweets required to have both cards revealed at once were obtained after just a single day and as such we got two legendary cards to talk about. For the last time it would seem, as there hasn't been a new vote put up. This signals that the final release of TGT is very soon.
Varian is … powerful. There is really no way to put it lightly. Drawing three cards and potentially playing them immediately is an effect worthy of his character. Whether it will be worth his mana cost (the maximum possible: 10) is something we will have to see in action. His effect could very well be too unreliable and there is also the issue that Battlecries like those of [card]Alexstrasza[/card] are lost when minions are played through an effect.
Still, for Control Warriors this could allow for an incredible powerful late game move even against decks that normally are capable of handling the more moderate pace of the deck. Like those employed by the son of Varian, Anduin. Even [card]Mind Control[/card] is no good if three 7+ mana minions are played at once.
Then we have Rhonin. Certainly a much simpler card to evaluate. As an 8 mana 7/7, his effect would need to be pretty amazing to qualify for constructed. It is not, at least not on its own. From a perspective of value it can be comparred to [card]Dr Boom[/card], three [card]Arcane Missiles[/card] are roughly the same average damage output as two Boom Bots. However, Rhonin costs 4 more mana to get the full value of him. That is simply no good on its own.
There are however various spell synergies that should be considered. [card]Archmage Antonidas[/card] can turn each of those Arcane Missiles into a [card]Fireball[/card] throughout a single turn. [card]Malygos[/card] can increase their power significantly and even [card]Gazlowe[/card] can offer a good deal on those spells. It is clearly through synergies like these that Rhonin is meant to obtain his value. It might be a little bit too niche though.
Finally we got another card to talk about. Ram Wrangler was revealed on stream by Lifecoach. It is kind of like a [card]Bane of Doom[/card] for Hunters - and that is much worse than it sounds.
As with all of the cards of this type, Ram Wrangler will only have access to collectable beasts. Huffer is not an option, sorry. There is more bad news. The average collectable beast … sucks. Most collectable beasts lie in the 1-2 mana slot and have little to no effect. Making this minion have value equal to or less than that of [card]Silver hand Knight[/card] most of the time. Mind you that is after you manage to forfill its requirement of already having a beast on the board.
You can dream about getting one of the legendary beasts and this card might get better in the future but for now, this is just a tax for people who don't know how to calculate statistics.
As always you can follow all new cards on our complete TGT spoiler page.
