The preliminary season of Blizzcon is over and points can no longer be obtained, either from ladder or in tournaments. And while the tournament infrastructure has been widely discussed, the innervated hosts pick apart the organic competition in HS and how it's tied to the World Championship.

Before Blizzcon goes into regional qualifiers across all its regions, Nydra, TheChiv and Sumadin take the opportunity to revise one important cogwheel in the HWC machine - ladder. Despite being a frequently critiqued feature, ladder placements played a huge part in who secured a spot in the regional qualifiers and who was left out. 

Should the importance of ladder be re-adjusted in the next season? What would be a good balance between ladder and tournament points. What improvements must be made towards a more consistent, competitive-friendly environment?
