Hawkeye and Dog will open the final day at Jonkoping as the last stage of the $40,000 tournament begins.

It’s been two long days of Hearthstone over at the Swedish esports capital of Jonkoping. 128 players were thrown into a seven-round swiss stage in the first ever instance of this format being used at a major Hearthstone tournament.

On the evening of June 14th, it was Apostolos “Hawkeye” Karaiskos who came out with an undefeated record. The Greek player who made waves during CN vs. EU Season 2 championship, where he finished second behind Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh, defeated an array of opponents in Sweden, most notably the Chinese powerhouse Xieyu “TiddlerCelestial” Wang, who was also undefeated before he met Hawkeye. Karaiskos thus enters the playoffs as the highest seeded player and will pick up a fight against the lowest seeded one, Complexity’s David “Dog” Caero in the first quarter final of DreamHack Summer.

The rest of the DreamHack bracket also has this mix of known names and up and comers. In the second quarter final, Finnish player Niko "NikoTheGreat" Airamo goes against Dignitas’ best player in Keaton “Chakki” Gill. Quarter final number three is a battle of giants between TiddlerCelestial and long-time Hearthstone player and streamer Jason “Amaz” Chan while the fourth will be a France versus Spain affair as Gregoire “Un33d” Bodin plays Estaban “AKAWonder” Serrano.

The winner will go home with the lion’s share of the $40,000 prize pool as well as 100 HWC points.
