Group A
: Michael "ExplodingCow" Evans
Team: London Conspiracy
Previous Tournaments: 2nd Place at Insomnia 54
ExplodingCow is the only British player present at his home tournament. The last home player at a Gfinity event was a former teammate from their time at Team Infused, Simon "Sottle" Welch, who managed the semi-finals at the inaugural Spring Masters I. Can ExplodingCow achieve a better performance?
Damian "Unskiller" Warzycha
Team: Black Ravens
Previous Tournaments: N/A
Not much is known about Unskiller, however if teammate Zozus' runner-up performance at Spring Masters I is anything to go by then Unskiller could provide some serious competition. Another player hoping to do one better than their teammate.
Wei-Lin "Tom60229" Chen
Team: yoe Flash Wolves
Previous Tournaments: 13-16th Blizzcon World Championships 2014, 5-6th Legendary Series Season 2
One of the top players on the Asian server and has looked impressive at previous tournaments. Former teammate FrozenIce recently moved to the Asian powerhouse Hearthstone team, Team Celestial. It will be interesting to see if Tom60229 is hoping that good display at Gfinity might land him a spot as the next Team Celestial member.
Guillaume "Dontstopme" Marlière
Team: BeGenius
Previous Tournaments: N/A
Another new player arriving to the Hearthstone scene, and Gfinity is a great place for these newcomers to make a name for themselves, especially considering that there are no invited players at this Championship. Perhaps the best thing about Dontstopme until now is that he beat GosuGamers team member Alex "Snower" Loundy at the Starladder Qualifiers.
Group B
Apostolos "Hawkeye" Karaiskos
Team: Fade 2 Karma
Previous Tournaments: 2nd CN vs EU Season 2, Top 8 Dreamhack Summer
One of the top players in the world following an impressive Dreamhack result, Hawkeye comes into this event as the favourite. On the theme of former teammates, although Hawkeye has recently joined Fade 2 Karma, he follows in the footsteps of Razor's Edge Gaming finalist and fan favourite, Kroba, who was infamous at Gfinity Spring Masters II for his trolly decks that included [card]Iron Juggernaut[/card] and [card]Dark Wispers[/card].
Dimitris "Dethelor" Theodoropoulos
Team: Fade 2 Karma
Previous Tournaments: 3rd Pinnacle 2, 2nd GamersOrigin Cup 2, 1st Brawler's Inn Finals
The Greek contingency continues to grow, and Dethelor also had a very impressive showing at Dreamhack Summer. He narrowly missed out on the qualification spot for Gfinity Spring Masters II but has gone from strength to strength in the past few months. He hasn't played with teammate Hawkeye in preparation for this event and could potentially be his biggest challenger for the trophy.
Anton "Legendaren" Danielsson
Team: Team Inovacio
Previous Tournaments: N/A
With the abundance of Swedish players, one of them was bound to be representing at this months Gfinity. Although Legendaren has been relatively unheard of beforehand, he appears unfazed by the big names of Hearthstone, knocking out both Xixo and lbDutchboy to qualify for this event. Add, also, Thijs to that list who he beat when the pair met at the Gosu Cup.
Mykola "NickChipper" Velychko
Team: Vega Squadron
Previous Tournaments: N/A
During the same time as the previous Gfinity event, news broke about about former Vega Squadron player Naiman's scandal. Maybe looking for a bit of redemption for the team, NickChipper is also no stranger to taking on the so-called big names having beaten Rdu and BunnyMuffins in the Gfinity qualifiers.
