May brings even further increase to Hearthstone viewership numbers

Once again, Brett "lincarnate" Farrow has put together the streamer stats of the previous month - and they come with a couple of surprises.
Normally, the highest viewer peaks of Hearthstone streamed on Twitch.tv happen during or a short while after new content is released. Unsurprisingly, the opening day of the Goblins vs. Gnomes expansion had the highest viewership since Brett is recording these data. Now come May, quite contrary to the trend: ESL's "Play it Cool" ladder Marathon featuring Janne "Savjz" Mikkonen, Sebastian "Forsen" Fors, Andrey "Reynad" Yanyuk and Thomas "Kungen" Amedeo managed to get the second highest viewership of all time during its second day - without any new content - while also getting a considerable number of viewers on its first day. Additionally, Viagame Housecup #3 was played out in the end of the month, netting the game another Top10 all-time viewership. In other words, a declining viewership could have been predicted for May, but it surprisingly increased by 6.5%, breaking the record April just set.
As for most popular streams, we have TSM's Octavian "Kripparrian" Morosan once more netting the first place, followed by Jason "Amaz" Chan and the second streaming powerhouse of TSM, Jeffrey "Trump" Shih. As for who put the most ours of streaming in, unknown players "Gimloo" and "TeleThor" come in on places #1 and #2, who both put in the insane number of roughly 358 hours in May alone. If you're not all that into the math-thingy, let me do it for you: that's 14.9 days of non-stop streaming. With May having 31 days, those two guys were streaming about 12 hours each and every day. Talk about dedication.
Note: The Hearthstone Streamer Stats are put together since December, so for example last year's BlizzCon World Championship Finals are not in the data.
