The initiative that was started with the help of ChanmanV and Machinima now returns for Season 3. Chanman is retired so Machinima will be cooperating with IHearthU.

The showmatch series Deck Wars is getting ready for its third season. Over the course of four months, 32 players will fight in 1v1 Bo7 series to gain a spot in the grand finals.

Deck Wars was the first showmatch series in Hearthstone where the individual episodes seeded players in a grand final, unlike other showmatch brands like IHU's King of the Hill. Its roots go back to early February where Kungen and Trump played the first ever Deck Wars match, which resulted in a victory for the swede.

In May, the twelve winners of the individual episodes were invited to a grand final in May. After a two-day battle, it was Drew "TidesofTime" Biessener who prevailed, 4-0'ing Nathan "ThatsAdmirable" Zamora in the grand finals, grabbing his first televized tournament championship.

With the feedback from the community being positive, Deck Wars returned for a second, bigger season. The episodes started end of May with the grand finals following in mid September, resulting in a victory for Romanian prodigy Dima "Rdu" Radu after a five-game series against Case "Koyuki" Kiyonaga.

Though season two automatically seeded the reigning champion tides into the grand finals, it will not be the case with season 3 and Rdu will have to fight for his spot. He'll have to do it today at 18:00 CET as he goes against World Champion James "Firebat" Kostesich in a Bo7 series.
