The second edition of China versus Korea Masters became more than an ordeal for the Koreans. After the first round of games, China leads 7-to-1, establishing complete dominance in the quarter finals.

This early defeat comes as a hard slap in the face of the South Koreans who had a much more respectable performance in the previous edition. In it, the warrior from the Mecca of StarCraft were able to outclass China, establishing a 5-to-3 quarter final ratio and 3-to-1 semi-final ratio, only to lose the grand final to MagicWind who defeated Hearthstone 4-0.

This time around, China came to drop the hammer. Out of all eight Korean representatives, seven were eliminated by the end of the first round, including the #1 national seed Leffe and TSM's star streamer Massan. As the dust settled, it was only Golden Coin's RenieHouR who had survived, now going on a personal crusade against China.

It will be difficult overcoming the red flag hegemony, however. In the quarter finals, China is represented by reigning CN vs KR Master champion and top ranked Chinese player MagicWind, BlizzCon participants Nicolas and RunAndGun, World Elite's YouLove and more. All players remaining will go home with at least $1,500 in prizes but the goal is of course the $20,000 gold medal.

CN vs KR Masters 2 now goes on a break for the Korean Thanksgiving and will return in ten days' time, September 15-16. Meanwhile, you can catch up to the event by scouting through the VODs, available both on our VOD page and in our dedicated coverage hub.
