After some tournament struggles, Jan "Ek0p" Palys seems to be on the right track again as he tramples Managrind's Chakki 3-1, just barely missing to pin a perfect 6-0 across both weeks.
For the opening match, Ek0p went back to the deck that brought him the flawless success last week, the wittily named, all-golden "Allahkir Akbar" mid-range Shaman, a build which has been very strong for both Ek0p and DogeHouse alike in the past.
Familiar with the intricacies of the Shaman class, Ek0p had no probles besting Chakki in the Thrall mirror in game one, forcing the American into the "Aftertaste" mid range Rogue. That went equally as bad for Managrind and Chakki went down to his last deck, a standard control Warrior.
The power of the Warrior got Chakki back in the series for a while as he finally managed to take a game away from Ek0p's Shaman. Sounding confident that he can make a comeback, the American needed two more wins to reverse-sweep the series and the slow and heavy pace of his deck gave allt he indications this is possible.
That was until the deck run into his double, a slightly altered but similar in playstyle "Swagnaros" Warrior. Rich on golden legendaries and running the rarely seen double Faceless Manipulator, Ek0p's Warrior prevailed in the metal face-off, giving the German the final 3-1 victory and 6-1 overall score in Fight Night 5.
These wins are invaluable to Ek0p as DogeHouse's founder has been on a losing streak since Fight Night Season 4, where a 2-3 loss to Monk was followed by an aggregate 0-8 at SeatStory Cup. The recovery in FN 5 pulls Ek0p out of the slump and puts him just slightly above the 1,000 rating in our GosuRankings.
