Genshin Impact 4.7: should you pull for Sigewinne or Furina?

Sigewinne and Furina are entering the scene for Genshin Impact’s 4.7 second half. Are you torn about who to pull for? We’ll help you decide!
Sigewinne, the adorable Melusine nurse of The Fortress of Meropide, debuts as a playable 5-star character alongside the first rerun of the former Hydro archon Furina. Both aligned with the Hydro element but with a vast difference in kits, are you weighing in your choices as to who should be better to pull for? Then read on further!
Need a nurse who can also pack a punch? Pull for Sigewinne
Genshin Impact’s Fontaine update plays heavily on how its characters consume HP, which in itself has made it a tad bit difficult for players to manage their teams.
With Sigewinne being the first dedicated Fontainian healer who doesn’t rely heavily on the Bond of Life mechanic, it’s an easy choice to have her in your party when you’re reliant on HP consuming DPSs like Neuvilette.
Sigewinne plays around with her own version of a Hydro Abyss Mage’s bubble attack, called the Bolstering Bubblebalm. This mechanic, which appears in her skill Rebound Hydrotherapy, allows Sigewinne to both heal party members and deal DMG based on her maximum HP.
Sigewinne’s Bond of Life is dependent on her two Sourcewater Droplets that she creates when she uses her skill– a callback to her identity as one of the children of the previous Hydro Sovereign.
But unlike how this mechanic increases DMG as with Arlecchino, Sigewinne’s Bond of Life only relies on 10% of her max HP and is a chance for her to receive up to five elemental particles to restore her energy.
Sigewinne is aligned with the Ousia Arkhe energy, which means that her skill can also call down a Surging Blade that deals damage based on Sigewinne’s max HP.
Sigewinne works well as the healer in parties that rely on quickswapping and teamwork, or for the DPS who needs time for some cooldown.
Need a versatile, do-it-all support? Pull for Furina
It’s no secret that Furina is one of the best characters to be ever released in Genshin Impact. The former Hydro Archon, who can freely swap between the Arkhe energy Pneuma and Ousia, can deal amazing DMG and support characters with massive buffs, while also doing some healing on the side.
What makes Furina so great is her burst, Let the People Rejoice, which deals area-of-effect Hydro DMG based on her max HP, as well as allows all party members to enter the Universal Revelry state.
While in this state, Furina will gain 1 Fanfare point for each percentage of all party members' HP increasing or decreasing. Each Fanfare point Furina has, up to a maximum of 300, will grant all party members an increase to DMG dealt as well as an incoming healing bonus.
Furina’s skill Salon Solitaire is something you shouldn’t ignore, too. While in her Ousia state, Furina will summon her own watery minions who can attack enemies alongside your DPS, with their DMG based off of Furina’s Max HP. Do note that this version of her skill will consume your party’s HP when it is over 50% for an additional DMG increase.
This is not a big issue however, as when shifting to Furina’s Pneuma state will allow her to instead summon a stationary healing beacon, the Singer of Many Waters, which will heal the current active character at regular intervals, also based on her max HP.
Furina is integral in many of the team compositions in Genshin Impact solely for her DMG buff increase. Truth be told, even Sigewinne pairs well with Furina if you’re more in tune with Furina’s Ousia state. If you still don’t have her, then you’re definitely missing out on some juicy numbers.
Sigewinne and Furina’s double banner will debut on 25 July, alongside Genshin Impact version 4.7’s second half.
