Ruler of the Skies will launch on 29 July, featuring the debut of Mega Rayquaza and several new gameplay updates.

Pokémon Table Card Game Pocket has revealed its latest expansion, Ruler of the Skies, which is set to launch on 29 July. The expansion introduces Mega Rayquaza to the mobile TCG for the first time, alongside a range of updates to core gameplay features.

The Pokémon Company also unveiled an upcoming elite deck gift missions event, which rewards players with two valuable cards, and shared a preview of its summer roadmap, outlining content arriving over the next few weeks.

When is the Ruler of the Skies pack release date?

The Ruler of the Skies expansion launches on Wednesday, 29 July, 2026, at 6:00 pm PDT. Meanwhile, the Mega Rayquaza covers and backdrops will become available from Saturday, 1 August.

What is in the Ruler of the Skies pack?

The line-up of cards that may appear in Ruler of the Skies booster packs includes:

  • Mega Metagross ex
  • Mega Rayquaza ex
  • Mega Gallade ex
  • Psyduck
  • Techno Blast
  • Absol
  • Skyla
  • Rainbow Cave
  • Wally

The new expansion will also introduce several important gameplay updates, including:

  • The ability to share decks with other players using 2D pattern codes.
  • Cards that appear in multiple booster packs will now be registered in the Card Dex for all corresponding booster packs once obtained. This update will also apply retrospectively to cards you already own.
  • If certain conditions are met when opening a booster pack, the next booster pack from the same expansion will guarantee a ♦♦♦♦ rarity card or higher.

New elite deck gift missions and rewards

From late July to late October, new elite deck gift missions will also be available. Completing these missions will reward players with a Fighting-type deck featuring Mega Lucario ex from the Pulsing Aura pack, and Hitmonchan ex from the Mega Rising pack.

Pokémon TCG Pocket summer roadmap

The Pokémon Company also revealed its summer roadmap, with events scheduled through to late August:

  • Late July to late October: Complete Handy Card Collection Missions to obtain Trainer cards that support your deck strategies, including Leaf, Sabrina, and Red.
  • Late July to early August: Log in and battle to complete Summer Event Missions and earn booster packs and other useful items.
  • Early to mid-August: Compete against other players in the Ruler of the Skies Emblem Event. Earn emblems based on the number of battles you win, and complete missions to receive shinedust and other rewards. During Community Week, you can also trade and share cards to earn trade hourglasses, special accessories, and additional rewards.
  • Mid- to late August: Complete solo battles to earn B Series Vol. 11 promo packs during the Mega Houndoom ex Drop Event, and collect Pachirisu and Beldum cards in a Wonder Pick event. In addition, Deluxe Pack: ex booster packs will return, giving players another opportunity to expand their collections.
