New Overwatch hero Shion's ability kit revealed, she can throw motorbikes at people
Wait 'til you see her on her bike.
Blizzard Entertainment has officially revealed the ability kit of Overwatch’s next playable hero, Shion. The upcoming Omnic gangster’s abilities were shown off in a new gameplay trailer released this week, revealing that Shion can not only ride her bike into battle, but she can fling it at enemies too.
Watch the trailer below:
What are Shion’s abilities in Overwatch?
Shion is a Damage character with the Flanker sub-role, which means that she can get extra healing from health packs. Her primary weapons are two Kira Pistols which she dual wields and can fire individually–much like Mauga’s dual chainguns. Her Execution ability allows her to fire off multiple X-shaped shots in a row, and she can hold the ability to tighten its spread.
Shion has a ton of mobility in combat. Her Evade ability allows her to quickly dodge enemy attacks and reposition herself on the battlefield. However, it’s her Joyride ability that will likely turn the tide in battle: she can actually ride on her bike in battle to move around the map, seemingly without limits. Reactivating the ability will cause her to dismount and throw her bike into enemies for explosive damage. She can even launch the bike into the sky to take down flying enemies.
Her ultimate ability, Satsuriku Spree, allows her to rush into enemies in a powerful storm of gunfire three times in a row. While it seems to boast meaningful damage potential, it’s her bike ability that will likely go down as the flashiest part of her kit.

Shion abilities breakdown
Overwatch Season 3: Shion's ability kit.Primary weapon:
- Kira Pistols: rapid-fire anima pistols
Abilities:
- Execution: Fire an X-shaped volley. Hold to tighten its spread.
- Evade: Dash and briefly gain overhealth
- Joyride - Rev your engine. Reactivate to dismount and launch your bike forward
Ultimate ability:
- Satsuriku Spree: Rush forward 3 times in a storm of gunfire
Passives:
- Subrole: Flanker: Health packs restore more health.
Perks:
Minor
- Rapid Reload: Evade reloads nine ammo
- X Machina: Execution does 20% more damage to enemies below half health
Major
- Refuel: Joyride instantly restores 50 health and regenerates 20 health per second while active
- Faces of Death: Gain all other Damage subrole passives (Recon, Specialist, and Sharpshooter)
That final major Perk, Faces of Death, might have caught your eye. It seems unusually strong, granting her access to all Damage sub-role passives at once. As a reminder, those passives are:
- Specialist: Eliminating an Enemy briefly increases reload speed
- Recon: Detect enemies below half health through walls after damaging them
- Flanker: Health packs restore more health
- Sharpshooter: Critical hits reduce movement ability cooldowns
By selecting Faces of Death, you would be able to track enemies through walls after damaging them and shorten movement ability cooldowns–like Shion’s Evade–simply by getting headshots. That seems pretty powerful from the outset, but we’ll have to wait until the character launches to see if it’s really as overtuned as it sounds.
When does Shion come out?
Shion launches in Overwatch Season 3: Into The Tiger’s Den, which launches on 16 June, 2026.
