What is included in the Elden Ring Tarnished Edition?

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is a bundle that includes the 2022 base game, alongside the critically-acclaimed Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

The edition also introduces new content to the game, including two new starting classes, four new armour sets–each accompanied by a new melee weapon–and additional customisation options for Torrent.

This marks Elden Ring’s first substantial content update in quite some time, and its first DLC release since the major Shadow of the Erdtree expansion launched in June 2024, albeit on a much smaller scale. Recent updates to the game have primarily focused on refining gameplay systems, balancing existing mechanics, and delivering hotfixes.

For those unfamiliar with the title, Elden Ring is one of the most successful video games of all time. Directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and set in a world created in collaboration with acclaimed author George R.R. Martin, the game has earned widespread critical and commercial success.

Its richly-detailed open world and deep action RPG mechanics helped establish Elden Ring as a landmark release, selling more than 30 million copies worldwide and earning numerous Game of the Year awards in 2022. It has since become a modern benchmark within the gaming industry, and Nintendo Switch 2 players will soon be able to experience its acclaimed world for themselves.

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition will retail for US$70 on Nintendo Switch 2 and is set to launch on 28 August, 2026.
