Umamusume Pretty Derby lines up Gemini Cup and new banners for September 2025

Plenty of new races and faces are lining up for Umamusume: Pretty Derby this September.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby has detailed its lineup of new content for September 2025, with plenty in store for players across the month. From the Gemini Cup Champions Meeting to new trainees, support cards, and a story event, the coming weeks are packed with updates to keep trainers on their toes.
Gemini Cup sets the pace
The month begins with the Gemini Cup, the latest Champions Meeting challenge. This time, the race takes place at Kyoto Turf across a demanding 3200m long-distance course on a right-handed outer track. Conditions are set in Spring with firm ground, making stamina management essential.
The Gemini Cup’s distance is a multiple of 400m, meaning it falls under Standard Distance, and it closely resembles the Tenno Sho (Spring). For players, this will be a trial by fire in PvP training: balancing Speed and Stamina is crucial. The Gemini Cup runs from 7 September at 10:00 p.m. until 17 September at 9:59 p.m. (UTC).
New trainees and support cards join the roster
Seiun Sky (7 to 18 September)
Arriving alongside the Gemini Cup is Seiun Sky, available with boosted scout rates. Seiun Sky has a laidback yet cunning personality and is widely regarded in the Japanese server as one of the strongest Front Runners, excelling in medium and long races. She is also a member of the vaunted ‘Golden Generation’ that had their Classic years in 1998 alongside Special Week, Grass Wonder, El Condor Pasa, and King Halo.
Players will be able to scout Seiun Sky from 7 to 18 September. Support cards during this period include Tamamo Cross (SSR) and Silence Suzuka (SSR).
Hishi Amazon (17 to 25 September)
Hishi Amazon enters the pool as an SR Support Card with a Power speciality. A fiery competitor who thrives in head-to-head races, she has an intense drive to win but always shows respect by congratulating her rivals when they come out on top.
Players can obtain Hishi Amazon between 17 and 25 September, alongside Bamboo Memory (SSR) and Shinko Windy (SR).
El Condor Pasa and Grass Wonder (21 September to 4 October)
Later in the month, two fantasy-themed alts will arrive: El Condor Pasa (Monk) and Grass Wonder (Healer). These versions put a twist on their original counterparts, with El Condor Pasa taking on a Late Surger focus and Grass Wonder leaning heavily into recovery skills.
From 21 September to 4 October, players will also have the chance to scout King Halo (SSR) and Seiun Sky (SSR) support cards.
Legend Races return
Legend Races make a comeback from 11 September until 23 September. These limited-time races are available for only four days at a time, requiring tickets to enter. Players receive a new ticket daily at 3 p.m. (UTC), with a maximum of three that can be held at once, so it’s important to use them each day to make the most of the event.
This upcoming set of Legend Races features some of the best Medium and Long-distance runners in the game, namely Mayano Top Gun, Mejiro McQueen, T.M. Opera O, and Super Creek. Make sure your challenger has enough Stamina to outlast these legends once you face them.
A story event to wrap up the month
Closing out September is Epic Odyssey: Uma Quest, a story-driven event that promises a new narrative for players to explore. It will run from 21 September at 10:00 p.m. until 4 October at 9:59 p.m. (UTC), tying together a packed month of updates.
