Battlefield 6 won’t demand much from your PC, unless you’re chasing 4K gaming

And yes, you will need Windows, not Linux.
DICE has unveiled the official PC requirements for Battlefield 6, and the message is clear: you don’t need a cutting-edge rig to dive in.
The studio is touting this as the most complete PC package the series has ever offered, with 4K visuals, ultrawide monitor support at both 21:9 and 32:9, HDR, uncapped framerates, console controller compatibility, custom servers, streamer and incognito modes, and more. Despite all that, the minimum specs are modest enough that a seven-year-old budget PC could still make the cut.
For players happy with 1080p at 30fps, the game only asks for an RTX 2060, RX 5600 XT, or Intel Arc A380 with 6GB of VRAM. That needs to be paired with 16GB of RAM, 55GB of storage, and at least an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600. Interestingly, this is less demanding than the open beta, which required 75GB of space.
Higher ambitions will demand stronger hardware
Those looking to crank Battlefield 6 to 4K60 Ultra, however, will need far more horsepower. A high-end CPU and GPU are essential, though the game does soften the blow with support for Nvidia DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 2, all with frame generation. For players who don’t insist on native 4K, these tools should go a long way in keeping the experience smooth.
There’s one sticking point: Linux users are out of luck. The game’s anti-cheat system doesn’t allow support at launch, and that decision has already led to boycotts among players who had hoped to ditch Windows entirely.

Battlefield 6 will launch on 10 October, 2025 on PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S.
