Monster Stories 3: Twisted Reflection announced for 2026

The 2021 role-playing game Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is getting a sequel. Capcom has announced Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, a Nintendo Switch 2-exclusive title slated for release sometime in 2026.

In the Monster Hunter Stories series, players step into the shoes of Riders who befriend monsters instead of killing them for loot. They do this by stealing monster eggs and hatching them, after which both the player and the “Monstie” fight wild monsters in turn-based combat.

Monster Hunter Stories 2 added additional gameplay features like a Buddies system, which allowed players to partner up with other characters and their companion Monsties. The sequel is likely to add even more gameplay improvements, in addition to its polished visuals.

Capcom describes Monster Hunter Stories 3 as such:

Twin Rathalos born in a twist of fate. Their appearance sets the stage for a new tale of Riders and Rathalos to unfold. Become a Rider, bond with monsters, and explore the vibrant world of Monster Hunter in this next evolution of the Monster Hunter Stories series.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection launches on Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2026.
