Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond Support Cards arrive in Umamusume Pretty Derby

3-star Mejiro McQueen and Tokai Teio are also available through the Pretty Derby Scout.
Two of the most popular Support Cards in the Japanese version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby are finally making their way to the global release. From 16 July to 1 August 2025, players will have the chance to pick up the Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond Support Cards, two cards that have earned a strong reputation for their flexibility and strength across many team builds.
With the global version running on an accelerated schedule to catch up with Japan, Support Card and character banners come quickly, making it more important than ever to plan your pulls carefully.
Kitasan Black: A consistent powerhouse for Speed training
Kitasan Black stands out as one of the best Speed-type Support Cards in the game. She may not have the highest raw numbers, but what sets her apart is how often she appears during training. This makes it much easier to trigger Friendship Training, one of the key ways to raise your stats efficiently during a run.
She’s also incredibly adaptable. Kitasan Black’s skill set works well with all running styles and distances, and her events often boost your trainee’s mood—helping maintain strong training cycles. Whether you're new to the game or aiming for top-tier builds, she’s a solid choice for nearly any deck.
Satono Diamond: Stamina and utility combined
Alongside Kitasan Black is Satono Diamond, a Support Card focused on Stamina and Guts. Her kit includes bonuses like Friendship Bonus, Initial Stats, Fan Bonus, and Race Bonus, along with extras such as improved Mood Effects and increased Hint Levels.
She’s not as universally essential as Kitasan Black, but she’s a great pick if you’re building for long-distance races or need a well-rounded support option. Her range of benefits makes her easy to slot into many different team compositions.
Mejiro McQueen and Tokai Teio return in Scout Banner
The Support Card banner isn’t the only thing happening: 3-star Mejiro McQueen and Tokai Teio are also available through the Pretty Derby Scout. Both characters are fan favourites and strong performers in their own right, offering another good reason to check out this update.
Originally released in Japan in 2021, Umamusume: Pretty Derby finally launched worldwide on 26 June 2025, available on Steam, iOS, and Android. The game mixes racing and idol simulation, with a cast of characters inspired by real-life Japanese racehorses. From underdogs like Haru Urara to champions like Gold Ship, the game combines strategy, charm, and fast-paced gameplay.
The global version has quickly found its footing with a growing player base across all platforms. Even ranches connected to the real horses have seen more visitors, as fans explore the stories behind their favourite characters.
Whether you're planning ahead for harder content or just looking to strengthen your team, this banner is one to keep an eye on.
