Overwatch 2’s Stadium game mode is getting a host of additions in Season 17.

Blizzard Entertainment’s hero shooter Overwatch 2 is adding a series of gameplay changes in Season 17: Powered Up! That includes new heroes for its Stadium game mode in Sigma, Junkrat, and Zenyatta, who boast all-new abilities, while the game also introduces a new Flashpoint map called Aatlis.

Here's a developer update for Season 17:

Overwatch 2 Season 17 adds major gameplay changes

Overwatch 2 Season 17: Powered Up! is adding Zenyatta, Sigma, and Junkrat to Stadium, along with two new Stadium maps: Esperanca and Samoa. Many have feared Junkrat’s addition to the game mode in particular, given that a poorly-balanced Junkrat can be the bane of Overwatch players everywhere. Hence, it’s surprising that Blizzard has opted to introduce the hero to Stadium this early, where he will surely dominate with a fully-upgraded grenade-flinging kit.

A few more changes are coming to Stadium including more build tools with a deeper focus on customisation, and the introduction of Stadium Forge, which lets players test out their favourite team comps with specific hero loadouts. Season 17 will also bring Stadium’s first rank reset, bringing everyone back to the same playing field competitively.

Additionally, Overwatch 2 is getting a map voting feature, finally allowing players to pick one out of three maps to play. While we’re on the topic of maps, the game is also getting a new Flashpoint map called Aatlis, set in futuristic Morocco.
