IO Interactive has revealed a first look at its upcoming James Bond game
The upcoming James Bond video game from IO Interactive, the developer behind the Hitman: World of Assassination trilogy, has been fully unveiled. This week, the game was revealed with an all-new trailer diving into its action-packed gameplay, which includes blowing up enemy bases, driving around in fast cars, and dangling above crocodiles.
This is the youngest version of James Bond that has been depicted onscreen as of yet, with Bond at a mere 26 years of age at the start of this story. He hasn’t earned his 007 title just yet, and is only now learning how to adeptly bluff and fight his way through high-stakes encounters.
Bond begins the story by entering MI6’s most challenging training program, designed to turn reckless but talented individuals into fully-fledged spies. As Bond, players will travel the world and visit snowy mountains to sunny beaches, and meet classic James Bond characters like M, Q, and Moneypenny.
Players will also meet Greenway, who acts as Bond’s mentor in this story campaign. The game’s action-adventure gameplay appears to be Uncharted-esque, with a mixture of stealth, vehicles, gadgets, and combat.
007 First Light will launch on PlayStation 5 sometime in 2026. For more games showcased in this week’s State of Play presentation, check out our coverage here.
