Street Fighter movie adaptation eyes its cast
Capcom’s live-action Street Fighter movie adaptation is eyeing its main cast. According to an exclusive from Deadline, the movie is now eyeing a number of actors to join its main cast: Andrew Koji (Warrior), Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before), Jason Momoa (A Minecraft Movie), and Roman Reigns (WWE). Deadline did not provide additional details on the casting, like who these actors are playing in the movie.
It’s worth noting that the report states that these actors are only “in talks” to join the movie adaptation, meaning that their casting hasn’t been confirmed just yet. The movie is in production at Legendary Entertainment, following its acquisition of exclusive film and TV rights for Street Fighter. Capcom is co-developing and co-producing the movie.
Originally, Talk to Me directors Danny and Michael Philippou were set to direct the movie, with a release date set for March 20, 2026. However, both directors left the project and were replaced by Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip) earlier this year. Despite the change in directors, the movie has retained its original release date.
The Street Fighter movie does not have a confirmed writer or producer at this stage, making a release date delay likely over the coming months. Jason Momoa’s potential casting in this movie is notable, considering that he’s coming off the success of the almost US$1 billion-grossing A Minecraft Movie.
The Street Fighter movie adaptation is set to hit theatres on 20 March, 2026.
