New leaks on the RTX 4090 claim that it can hit a boost clock of 2750MHz, blowing its predecessor out of the water.
Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4090 is shaping up to be quite the beast. The rumour mill has been working overtime in the last week, churning out plenty of new leaks for Nvidia’s upcoming GPUs. The latest of these leaks point to the RTX 4090 being capable of hitting insane clock speeds, especially when compared to its predecessor.
Leaker kopite7kimi revealed that the GPU might launch with a base clock of 2235MHz, which already happens to be 60% higher than the RTX 3090 is capable of. That speed can then be boosted up to 2520MHz, and a game clock of 2750MHz. To reiterate: the RTX 3090 had a boost clock of 1695MHz. Do some quick math, and you’ll realise what a big upgrade the RTX 4090 could be if it lives up to these leaks.
The rest of the leaks point to previously-known information. The upcoming GeForce RTX 40 Series is codenamed Ada Lovelace, and is rumoured for a launch later this year. The RTX 4090 will reportedly lead the launch, but it isn’t exactly the most powerful of the bunch. That honour goes to the RTX 4090 Ti, which sports a AD102-300-A1 GPU, at least 16484 CUDA cores, a 384-bit memory bus, 16GB GDDR6X graphics memory running at 21Gbps and a 450W TDP.
Here are some rumoured specs for the RTX 40 Series, according to kopite7kimi:

Note that while the RTX 4060 isn’t mentioned here, that’s only because it wasn’t part of this round of leaks. All kopite7kimi had to say about the RTX 4060 is that it will consume more power than the RTX 3070. We’ll have to wait until Nvidia is ready to reveal the RTX 40 Series later this year for firmer details. Currently, rumours point to a reveal in September or October, with the RTX 4090 being first to launch.
