23savage parts ways with Talon Esports again, as loan from OG ends

23savage's departure comes after disappointing showings from Talon Esports in the TI 2025 qualifiers and the Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2025.
Southeast Asian Dota 2 powerhouse Talon Esports have parted ways with Thai carry player Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, with the conclusion of his loan period from OG. OG previously loaned 23savage to Talon in May.
This move comes after an early and disappointing end to the season for Talon. Despite being the biggest favourites to represent Southeast Asia in The International (TI) 2025, Talon missed out on Dota 2's annual world championship tournament for the first time since the organisation entered the scene in late 2021.
In TI 2025's Southeast Asian regional qualifier, Talon were upset in the upper bracket finals by Team Nemesis for the first of two spots in TI for the region. They then fell victim to another upset in the lower bracket finals, this time at the hands of BOOM Esports, and thus failed to secure a spot in TI 2025. Following their disappointing run in the TI 2025 qualifiers, Talon put up another lackluster showing in the Dota 2 Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025, where they failed to make it out of the Elimination Phase and were knocked out in 9th-12th place.
Talon's failure in the TI 2025 qualifiers and Dota 2 EWC 2025 were especially jarring, considering they entered those events after coming off a stellar showing in DreamLeague Season 26, where they finished in third place.
Talon thanked 23savage for this services in their announcement of his departure, saying “We would like to thank Nueng for helping us run back SEA to a podium finish at an international event, and we wish him the best.”
With 23savage's departure, Talon's roster is now down to just four players, namely mid laner Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman, offlaner Chung “Ws`” Wei Shen, position 4 support player Tri “Jhocam” Kuncoro, and team captain Carlo “KuKu” Palad. It is unclear if Talon will remain with this roster for the rest of the year or if more changes are on the horizon.
This also marks the second time that 23savage has parted ways with Talon. He first played under the Talon banner in 2022, eventually leaving the team in November 2023 to join Aurora Gaming's then-Southeast Asian Dota 2 roster.
2025 has not been kind to 23savage's career. After establishing himself as one of the best carry players in Southeast Asia from 2021 to 2024, 23savage left his home region last October and moved to Western Europe to join OG. This move marked his first time playing in Europe, the most competitive region in the scene. During his time with the two-time TI-winning organisation, 23savage played alongside prolific players like Leon “Nine” Kirilin and Sébastien “Ceb” Debs.
Despite the star-studded lineup, OG struggled mightily to even become competitive in Western Europe. One of the biggest disappointments was missing out on ESL One Bangkok 2024, depriving 23savage a chance to play in a LAN tournament hosted in his home country. During 23savage's time with OG, the team only managed to qualify for PGL Wallachia Season 3, where they finished in a disappointing last place.
OG placed 23savage on their inactive roster in late March following the team's disastrous start to the year. With the player's loan to Talon now concluded, 23savage is back on OG's bench.
