The GCS Dota 2 Cup will feature a prize pool of US$300 worth of Steam Credits split between its two competitive formats.

GosuGamers, a leading global gaming and esports media platform, has announced the expansion of its Gosu Community Series (GCS) into Dota 2 with the GCS Dota 2 Cup. This initiative aims to offer the Dota 2 community with its very own grassroots tournament, while addressing the lack of amateur esports events for Dota 2 in Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific regions.

The GCS Dota 2 Cup will feature both 1v1 and 5v5 tournaments, running monthly from June 2025 onwards. The series will be open to players from all regions, with competition hosted in Dota 2’s Singapore server.

The GCS Dota 2 Cup will be professionally managed by GosuGamers’ league operations, marketing, and creative teams, and hosted online through GosuBattles, GosuGamers’ proprietary tournament platform. GosuBattles delivers a seamless and enjoyable competitive Dota 2 experience, even to grassroots players.

The GCS Dota 2 Cup also features a prize pool of US$300 worth of Steam Credits split between its two competitive formats.

The 5v5 tournament will have a winner-take-all prize pool of US$200. Meanwhile, the 1v1 tournament will have a total prize pool of US$100, with the Top 4 finishers earning prizes. Here’s the prize pool breakdown for the GCS Dota 2 Cup 1v1 tournament:

  • Champion: US$50
  • 2nd place: US$30
  • 3rd-4th place: US$10

This marks the first time that the GCS will feature a PC title, with the series previously having hosted mobile titles in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and Honor of Kings (HoK). The GCS Dota 2 Cup will also be the first event in the series to not be region-locked, with GCS MLBB being exclusive to the Philippines and Malaysia, while GCS HoK is exclusive to the Philippines.

The inaugural GCS Dota 2 Cup will be held in June, with the 1v1 tournament taking place on 8 June, and the 5v5 tournament being hosted on 13 June.

The 1v1 tournament will follow Dota 2’s 1v1 mid-only format with no hero or item restrictions. Meanwhile, the 5v5 tournament will follow the standard Dota 2 competitive format in Captain’s Mode.

There will be no MMR or rank restrictions for both tournaments as well, so everyone is welcome to join!

Registrations for the GCS Dota 2 Cup’s 1v1 and 5v5 tournaments are already open! Interested players can go to GosuBattles, with registration links for the 1v1 tournament here and the 5v5 tournament here.

Registrations for the GCS Dota 2 Cup’s 1v1 and 5v5 tournaments will close on 7 June and 12 June, respectively.
