The battles for ESL One Birmingham in Eastern Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia have come to an end, granting entry to four teams to compete in April 2024.

ESL One Birmingham 2024 LAN event is still a few months away, but the qualifiers and lineup for the big event are almost complete. Over the weekend four teams secured their places —Team Spirit and Klim Sani4 for EEU, Talon Esports for SEA, and Shopify Rebellion for North America.

Back in October, Shopify announced a surprising multi-regional roster built around NA super-star Artour "Arteezy" Babaev. Only he and Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek along with coach Kanishka "BuLba" Sosale remained on the team. This year has certainly been off to a good start for them too with the changes. Although they did fall a bit short of securing a place at BetBoom Dacha Dubai next month, they took not only the sole NA spot for ESL One Birmingham 2024 but first place in the DreamLeague Season 22 qualifier. In both victories, Nouns pressed them to a full five-game series.

For almost the entire 2023 competitive season, Talon Esports dominated the Southeast Asia region and headed into The International 2023 as the only SEA team who had secured its spot via Dota Pro Circuit points. However, when push came to shove they were sent home with just a 9th-12th finish. The organization parted ways with the full team and brought on board a mix of Malaysian, Indonesian, and Filipino players. It took a bit of time for them to find their synergy and strategies, missing the mark in both the BetBoom Dacha and DreamLeague qualifiers. But something clicked finally, and in a convincing 3:0 sweep over Geek Fam, Talon has booked their ticket to Birmingham.

Eastern Europe was blessed with receiving two slots for Birmingham. Unsurprisingly, Team Spirit grabbed the first slot with a dominating upper-bracket run. The second slot was seized by a rising regional team, Klim Sani4, that was formed at TI2023 for the ESL One Kuala Lumpur qualifiers. The team has also gained a spot at DreamLeague Season 22 when they came in 3rd place in the qualifiers. The team is comprised of relatively young players, some with as little as 2-3 years worth of competitive experience so far.

MENA, China, WEU, and South America will conclude this week, finalizing the lineup with the four remaining teams.

ESL One LAN tournament will be hosted in Birmingham in the second part of April. The last time ESL One was in the English city was in 2019 when Team Secret took the championship title, trophy, and lion's share of the $300,000 prize pool after besting Evil Geniuses 3:2 in the grand finals. Another ESL One LAN event was scheduled for March 2020, but was canceled due to the CoronaVirus Pandemic. That event was rescheduled to online only.
