At The International 11, Team Liquid and Thunder Awaken delivered one of the most amazing series of the event. Three players from that TA roster are now on EG and this meeting had all the hope and promise of being hype.
Team LiquidvsEvil Geniuses 2:0
The first match of the series saw Evil Geniuses' taking an iffy draft that seemed to bite them in the end. Although they shut down Michał "Nisha" Jankowski's ember early on, Team Liquid was still able to get the good team fights to catch up. Eventually, Nisha's damage was able to scale and without an answer to Alchemist, TL was able to easily overpower Evil Geniuses for the first game victory.
Evil Geniuses' lineup was much more balanced in the second game. Once again though Team Liquid grabbed Ember Spirit for Nisha and he didn't disappoint. And neither did Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg on Beastmaster, with another flawless performance. Together, with on-point plays by Samuel "Boxi" Svahn gave Team Liquid yet another win.
Evil Geniuses go home with a 4th place finish, $50,000, and 350 DPC points.
Team Liquid will continue along the lower brackets to face 9Pandas in the lower bracket finals.
The last day of the playoffs begins tomorrow, May 7th at 12:00 CEST
