Division II nightmares and inconsistency seem to be things of the past for Invictus Gaming, who are back in top form after two years of struggles.

ESL One Berlin Major will mark Invictus Gaming return to the upper echelon of competitive Dota 2. It will be their first Major appearance since WePlay AniMajor 2021, where they actually suffered a super early elimination, in the wild card stage.

iG have been all over the place in the past three years. After a perfect run at ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021 and memorable grand finals with the NA roster of Evil Geniuses, iG showed inconsistency for thne following years. The failure in the AniMajor wild card stage was followed by a top 4 finish at The International 2021. Coming into the 2022 DPC, what once was one of the finest Chinese teams relegated to Division II in the first tour of that year. It took iG two full tours to promote back to Division I. They also failed in the regional qualifiers for The International 2022 and barely avoided relegation back to Division II this year by placing sixth in the Winter Tour.

Coming into the Spring Tour, roster changes were in order and more than that, their long standing mid lane player, Zhou "Emo" Yi decided it was time for him to make a role swap. With him now in the carry position, iG are in the top 3 in China regional league Division I and are looking ahead at regaining their champions status at the upcoming ESL One Berlin major.

Along with iG, China will also be represented by Xtreme Gaming, who are the top seed team from the region, PSG.LGD, who finished second this Spring Tour, and Team Aster, who clinched the fourth and final ticket to the Major.
