South America qualifiers for The International 10 are half way through. Only seven teams remain in the competition for the one ticket to the event, but for Infamous the battle is over.

From being the first South American team to reach a top eight finish at The International, back at TI9, Infamous won’t be able to attend the tenth edition of the biggest esports event.

Following the incredible story that they have written at TI9 in Shanghai, China, Infamous wasn’t able to keep the roster that put them in the top eight. The entire line-up went on a different path, playing without a sponsor for a while, under the Team Anvorgesa tag, before being picked up by beastcoast. After losing the roster, Infamous went through numerous roster changes, trying to rebuild their team around captain Christian "Accel" Cruz. The latest swap happened towards the end of the second season of Dota Pro Circuit leagues, when they lost their carry player, Crhistian "Pakazs" Savina to Team Unknown.
Despite the roster instability, Infamous were still able to place fourth in Season 2 upper division and at the beginning of this month they also placed third at the BTS Pro Series Season 6: Americas, being the highest placed SA team in the tournament.

Headed into TI10 qualifiers, they lost the upper bracket battle to EgoBoys, but survived the first elimination series held against Omega Gaming. The road to TI10 came to an end last night at the hands of the Brazilian team BINOMISTAS, who are the runners up in the SA lower division Season 2.

InfamousvsBINOMISTAS

The series started with BINOMISTAS applying enormous pressure on Infamous with a push oriented draft that featured Death Prophet, Broodmother, Shadow Shaman, and Enchantress. Their objective taking playstyle got the Peruvian team in trouble from early stages and gave no time for Infamous' Medusa to mount a comeback.

They tried to create the same kind of pressure in game two, but with an offlane Broodmother and a carry Axe. However, their safe lane didn’t go as planned, as Infamous countered the Axe with a core Venomancer and kept the Broodmoother push threat under control with strong team fight coming from a  Gyrocopter - Winter Wyvern duo.

Headed into the decisive game of the series, BINOMISTAS changed the tactic a bit but kept the same aggressive stance. They built up the momentum with a mid lane Bloodseker and a position four Nyx Assassin that was creating chaos all over the map, while his carry Terroblade had uncontested farm. The Brazilians took full control of the game and knocked Infamous out of the contention for the one ticket to TI10.

In the upper bracket, Brazil also has SG e-sports reaching the upper bracket finals, where they will play tomorrow, June 26, against Infinity.
