The Manila Masters may still be a little while away, but a third team has received a direct invite to the event.

With The Manila Masters being announced almost three weeks ago now, we have learned that Newbee are the third team to receive a direct invite, joining OG and Evil Geniuses as they await the other challengers.

With Newbee winning the Dota 2 Professional League Season 2 at the end of December, along with a 2nd place at ESL One Genting 2017, they look like one of the strongest from their region. Newbee also received a direct invite to the Kiev Major - meaning that we’ll get to see them quite soon. And after an admirable 3rd place finish at last year’s Manila Major, the Chinese team will return to the Mall of Asia Arena hoping to better their previous result.

The event takes place in late May, spanning three days and will see eight teams battle it out for their share of a $250,000 prize pool. More details on the tournament, including ticket purchase information for the event, can be found on The Masters Manila 2017 Site.

Alongside this announcement, we also learned that the Philippines Qualifier for The Manila Masters will begin in two weeks, with a lot of information coming through on that topic, be sure to stay tuned for more details.
