A few hours after we published our interview with the Swedish caster Kim "Drayich" Larsson, Valve and Perfect World changed their minds again and granted his studio an invite to the event.
Yesterday we had the chance to talk with the most popular Swedish Dota 2 commentator, Kim "Drayich" Larsson who was initially accepted by the Shanghai Major organizers to come and cast on site for the Swedish community. After he started a fundraiser to cover all the travel expenses plus the internet infrastructure needed at the venue he was told that the offer is not available anymore. The money gathered from the community were given back but PapaDrayich kept negotiating with Valve for another possible change of heart.
“ We are still talking to them since it’s still a small possibility that we are going, but as time passes it’s harder to really make a good plan, so we might have to make a production in Sweden instead. That’s why I decided to pay all the money back to the community. It’s important to keep their trust. If we get a green light to go anyway I hope we manage to find the money still.” - Kim "Drayich" Larsson in the interview for gosugamers.Last night, Perfect World and Valve approached the Swedish studio again and gave them the green light to attend the event. With that being settled for now, Drayich has put together a budget for three persons traveling to Shanghai, instead of four, how it was initially planned and has started another fundraiser from scratch.
