G-League concluded earlier today, LGD beat CDEC three games to two to secure themselves the title and a prize of $32,700.

Prize pool distribution:

1st LGD Gaming ($32,700)
2nd CDEC Gaming ($8,100)
3rd/4th HGT, TongFu ($1,640)

G-League featured an eight team single elimination bracket with a best of five finals, the first two rounds were played back in June while the final was played earlier today. NewBee was eliminated in the first round by HyperGloryTeam which was a huge upset, the other results were fairly predictable.

The grand final went the distance, which was quite unexpected considering LGD are a TI invitee while CDEC is a wildcard, the match was good practice for both teams. CDEC have been very impressive since the TI qualifiers, finishing second in ECL as well as WCA.

The International is just days away now, CDEC are emerging as a favorite for the wild cards; it’ll be interesting to see how these two Chinese teams perform at the biggest eSport event of all time.
