At the time of publish, the total prize money of The International 5 has just reached $8,000,000 mark fueled by a remarkable $318,690 increase today. With the total prize pool hitting $8 million, Valve have earned themselves a whooping $19,200,000 off the sales of Compendium alone.

Released on the 1st of May, the TI5 Compendium has raised the prize pool by $6,400,000, a staggering increase over what was raised on the 13th day of the TI4 Compendium released last year. At this point of time last year, the community contributed a little over $4,700,000 and the difference is mainly due to the 100% increase in sales on the day of the release.

The prize pool of TI5 is set for another big boost after the release of the second Immortal treasure which has been delayed because Valve is not ready to release it. "We know the most important aspect of these Immortals is their quality level, so we are also planning on spending some extra time polishing them rather than releasing them quickly," Valve wrote explaining the delay.

At this rate, the dream of having a higher prize pool for The International 5 in comparison of The International 4 ($10,931,105) does not seem too far-fetched due to the undivided support from the Dota 2 community. The support shown by Dota 2 community is really something to be proud off.

However, according to Reddit user VertigoDota, without the big boost from Immortal Treasure 2 and Immortal Treasure 3, it is unlikely that the prize money of The International 5 to hit the desired $15,000,000.
