Invictus Gaming crushes MVP.Pheonix and relegates them to the losers bracket. In the other game of today, Big God beats Speed Gaming in a close three game series.
Today marks the first day of the i-League season 2 LAN finals. Two games were played today, Invictus Gaming vs MVP.Phoenix and Big God vs Speed Gaming; iG won 2-0 and BG won 2-1. With this, MVP.Phoenix and Speed Gaming are waiting in the loser bracket, whereas iG and BG move on in the winners bracket. Their opponents will be decided in tomorrow's matches. The matches are, LGD Gaming vs Lajons and Vici Gaming vs HyperGloryTeam.
The two matches played today showcased both the strength of the up and coming Chinese teams and the return to form of the older Chinese teams. The game where iG crushed MVP.Phoenix 2-0 shows that their recently amazing form is to stay. This points at a return to form for them, after a slump in the post TI4 period. Another team that will also be looking to prove that they are out of their slump is LGD Gaming; they will be playing Lajons, now Ninjas in Pyjamas, tomorrow. As for the other series, Speed Gaming was able to take a game off the team of retired veterans, Big Gods, showcasing the potential of the up and coming Chinese teams such as themselves and CDEC.
